उत्तराखण्ड में 6 नये पुलिस थाने एवं 20 नई पुलिस चौकियां खेली गई हैं। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने सोमवार को सचिवालय से इनका वर्चुअल उद्घाटन किया गया है। इन 6 थानों में 661 ग्राम एवं 20 चौकियों में 696 ग्राम शामिल हैं। ये क्षेत्र पहले राजस्व पुलिस के अधीन थे, अब इनमें नियमित पुलिस की व्यवस्था की गई है। जिन 6 नये पुलिस थानों का मुख्यमंत्री ने उद्घाटन किया उनमें पौड़ी में थाना यमकेश्वर, टिहरी में थाना छाम, चमोली में थाना घाट, नैनीताल में थाना खनस्यूं एवं अल्मोड़ा में थाना देघाट एवं धौलछीना शामिल हैं। जिन 20 नई चौकियों का मुख्यमंत्री ने उद्घाटन किया उनमें देहरादून में लाखामण्डल, पौड़ी में बीरोखाल, टिहरी में गजा, काण्डीखाल एवं चमियाला, चमोली में नौटी, नारायणबगड़ एवं उर्गम, रूद्रप्रयाग में चौपता एवं दुर्गाधार, उत्तरकाशी में सांकरी एवं धौंतरी, नैनीताल में औखलकाण्डा, धानाचूली, हेड़ाखाल एवं धारी, अल्मोड़ा में मजखाली, जागेश्वर एवं भौनखाल तथा चम्पावत में बाराकोट शामिल हैं।
मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि विकास एवं व्यवस्थाओं में परिवर्तन के साथ राज्य के जिन क्षेत्रों में राजस्व पुलिस की जगह पर नियमित पुलिस की आवश्यकता हो रही है, उनमें चरणबद्ध तरीके से नियमित पुलिस की व्यवस्था की जा रही है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि सुशासन से समृद्धि के मार्ग को प्रशस्त करने के लिए राज्य सरकार वचनबद्ध है। पुलिस व्यवस्था राज्य की कानून व्यवस्था का दर्पण होती है। सुरक्षा एवं कानून व्यवस्था को बनाने की पुलिस की बड़ी जिम्मेदारी होती है। उन्होंने कहा कि व्यवस्थाओं को सुधारने की हमेशा गुंजाइश होती, इस दिशा में उत्तराखण्ड पुलिस को निरन्तर कार्य करना होगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि पुलिस की यह भी बड़ी जिम्मेदारी है कि समाज के अच्छे लोगों का उन पर विश्वास बढ़े और आपराधिक पृष्ठभूमि के लोगों को पुलिस का डर भी हो। कानून व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाये रखने की पुलिस पर बड़ी जिम्मेदारी होती है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि पुलिस के अधिकारियों को अपने नियमित कार्यों के अलावा जनहित से जुड़े विषयों पर लगातार कार्य करना होगा। अपने कार्यों के साथ ही हम समाज सेवा के कार्य करते हैं, तो यह हमारे लिए उपलब्धि है। उन्होंने कहा कि 2025 तक उत्तराखण्ड को ड्रग्स फ्री राज्य बनाने, स्वच्छता अभियान एवं सामाजिक सरोकारों के अन्य कार्यों में भी उत्तराखण्ड पुलिस को लगातार कार्य करना होगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कोरोना काल से पुलिस के प्रति लोगों का दृष्टिकोण बदला है। विपरीत परिस्थितियों में उत्तराखण्ड पुलिस द्वारा समाज सेवा के लिए जो कार्य किये गये वह सराहनीय है। हमें आगे भी हर क्षेत्र में इसी मनोयोग से कार्य करना होगा।
